The Oranges ๐ŸŠ๐ŸŠ

Before I finally made up my mind of which natural color diamond I will acquire I actually had two choices before which is kinda difficult to choose which from until the knowledgeable help of Emily Duke from Diamond Envy who helped me decide to go for the cushion cut but for comparison here's the final two! It took me since June 2015 and from diffrent natural color diamond dealers to finally decide on one!๐ŸŠ

This was initially what caught my fancy as you can see it is obviously orange in fact a remarkable citrus vivid orange coloration & the pear shape cut is perfect for the design that I have in mind. It weighs 0.31 ct the perfect size for what I'm looking for coz I cannot go under 0.30 ct! It also have another interesting feature & that is it fluoresce a 'strong orange'. But fluorescent colored diamonds are either a good or a bad thing & knowing which one fits the situation requires knowledge, expertise or plenty of experience or alot of common sense & later I will explain why coz it helped my buying decision.๐ŸŠ
Though a picture is not the best way to judge or evaluate the true beauty of diamonds coz one or two pictures cannot capture the actual beauty of a colored diamond that's because diamonds are not static. So let's take a look at the next best thing to judge a diamond's true beauty is by viewing a high quality video of it! Coz I assume a high quality video is the closest thing to reality than static pictures. So without further ado here's this pear shape orange diamond! The first time I saw this video I was astounded by the intensity, vividness & saturation of this diamond! It looks like a pure orange diamond! Every angle and facets screams absolute scarcity! In other words it is probably the most beautiful natural color diamond I have ever seen in fact as beautiful as the one I chose!๐ŸŠ
It comes with a GIA colored diamond grading report and you can see it is Fancy Vivid Yellow Orange meaning it is the purest & highest grade for yellow orange diamonds out there in other words the color is perfect! That's because when a color gets below or stronger than the coveted grade 'vivid' it is deviating from perfection. Simply put vivid means it is not lacking or not having too much color & for orange diamonds when the color gets too light or too dark it becomes brown! So I guess now you know why 'vivid' is paramount! Now another important thing to consider is the evenness of the color distribution. As you can see this diamond have an 'even color distribution' so it is not patchy which can make diamonds appear unsightly! To me the saturation of color and the evenness is both equally important as important as having a 'natural color origin' which means the color is natural & not due to irradiation & we should all know artificially irradiated diamonds are abundant like those lab created colored diamonds, only those natural color diamonds are rare such as this one!๐ŸŠ
The chosen one! Weighing at 0.34 ct or just 3 points more weighty than the orange pear shape this might appear a little bit orange than the pear shape which is not probably it looks lighter because this cushion cut is 'none fluorescent' & why does it have to? It is already perfect in color so any orange fluorescence can only make it appear darker. Also the rarest orange diamonds are Type IIa and they are generally none fluorescent & they have this characterestic limpid crystal or transparency that this cushion cut orange diamond have. This diamond is also polished very good showcasing the adamantine luster quite well.๐ŸŠ
Now this video speaks volume & as you can see๐Ÿ” it is more transparent,๐Ÿ’ง fiery,๐Ÿ”ฅ dispersive,♨ scintillating๐Ÿ’ซ & more brilliant๐ŸŒŸ & lighter in tone than the pear shape even though they are both graded as 'Fancy Vivid Yellow Orange' they don't look desame, that's because GIA does not factor in 'color tone'. For a vivid orange diamond ideally the tone should be lighter coz a darker tone can make a diamond appear brownish whereas a lighter tone can make it appear yellowish and in some lighting conditions a darker tone orange diamond will not look as bright as a lighter tone orange diamond of the desame vivid intensity. Who says buying colored diamond is easy!? It really requires finesse & a high level of IQ.๐Ÿ˜‰In other words I am confident the diamond I chose will look orange or predominantly orange in all lighting conditions! Whether indoors, outdoors or a combination of both even in dim areas or well lit areas or under the sun this diamond is guaranteed not to look any less vivid orange! And when it comes to natural color diamond how they visually look to you & in public matters coz you wouldn't be spending a huge fortune buying an orange diamond that does not look orange at all!๐ŸŠ
Like the pear shape orange this one is also GIA certified. Interestingly they are both graded by GIA on desame day & probably at the same time, so they could be sent to the lab from the same owner & they couldn't be twins or diamonds polished from the same rough as the other one fluoresce while the other one don't. Fluorescence & clarity grade are not indicated on both grading reports but Diamond Envy sent me a picture of the fluorescence test of both & I was guaranteed that both have I1 clarity while mine is eye clean I1 meaning the inclusions cannot be seen especially when the stone is mounted & it is possible that I1 clarity diamonds can be eye clean most likely these diamonds should be graded SI3 but GIA does not have SI3 in their clarity grading scale. The pear shape diamond is eye clean at most viewing conditions but sometimes the feather near the 3 O'clock position on the table is eye visible, regardless since these two diamonds are highly saturated in color any inclusions or clarity feature seems to dissapear. It's important to note that many natural color diamonds are graded by GIA without indicating the clarity grade that's because clarity feature in natural color diamonds is not as important as it is to colorless white diamonds coz the color in natural color diamonds tends to mask or hide internal clarity features but because I am different after finishing paying for this diamond Diamond Envy now Finesse Diamond Corp. agreed to send this diamond to GIA to have a full grading report FREE of charge! And who doesn't like FREE!? A full grading report of it will then include the fluorescence and clarity grade & if possible the Type of the diamond wether Type I or Type IIa. It may not matter to most but it matters to me coz I have kinda an obsessive compulsive disorder.๐Ÿ˜ฐ To be honest even though I am a perfectionist I care less about the clarity feature of a colored diamond just as long as the clarity feature does nt affect the beauty & durability of the diamond. What are most important are that this orange diamond is natural and so is the color & the color distribution is even & that makes me beyond happy.๐Ÿ˜Š
On this picture sent to me by Emily Duke of Diamond Envy the two diamonds are being tested for fluorescence, the orange pear shape on the left fluoresce a 'strong orange' while the orange cushion shape diamond on the right does not fluoresce at all.๐ŸŠ
And finally another picture sent to me by Emily Duke of Diamond Envy. As you can see they kinda look identical in color and they should because they are both graded as Fancy Vivid Yellow Orange but no less than the world's foremost authority in gemology GIA (Gemological Institute Of America) and when GIA says these two are vivid yellow orange then everybody believes. But then again no two diamonds are ever exactly alike coz yellow orange can be 55% to 74% orange predominantly. But as well all know by now the pear shape orange diamond is fluoresce a strong orange and that probably is the reason why it appears a darker tone compared to the orange cushion cut here & if you notice the subtle difference you must have a pretty good eyesight! By the way the black inclusion that appears in the center or the table of the orange cushion cut diamond is not an inclusion but a dark area of the faceting which dissapears as the stone is move or tilted it is common for fancy cuts diamonds to possess such an effect the more those dark areas also known as light leakage is present the mre poorly cut the diamond but as you can see in the video you cannot see those dark areas on the orange cushion diamond. It just happened that photographs being static unfortuantely captured that dark area(s) or light leakage on both pictures.๐ŸŠ

PS: As of this writing I am thinking of buying both of these orange diamonds coz I think they are meant to be together. But of course with my limited budget that is only possible if I can get a BIG discount on both purchase!๐Ÿ˜‰
