A fter an embarrasing aftersale of 'The Pink Star' diamond from Sotheby's late 2013 auction when the winning bidder defaulted or failed to finish the payments of the final hammer price of $83 million dollars, Sotheby's are forced to buy back the enormous pink diamond as it had promised the seller a certain price. Though I also heard someone bought it years after for $72 million but I guess it is a lie coz Sotheby's are offering it again with just $62 million dollars as a minimum bid price this coming April 4th in Sotheby's Hong Kong auction, $21 million dollars less from the supposedly world record breaking price way back in 2013! With that the reputation of this flawless pink diamond is affected & probably turn off a few potential buyers but from 2013 the world economy aren't quite good and despite that precious gems particulary natural color diamonds are selling for world record breaking prices per carat for any gem!
